Netflix has just released the trailer of the series “The I-Land”, which feels like a combination of the films “Fyre“, “Lost” and “Hunger Games“.
In the trailer, the opening scene is very similar to the video of the failed Fyre music festival promotion. There are bikini-clad women who vacation on the beautiful island and beach, making anyone envious of who sees it.
But a second later, the scene immediately turned tense with the words ‘help’ written on the sand, and people who seemed to have to struggle to stay alive. There are two people who are watching the condition of the island through television screens.
For those of you who like to watch, those scenes will surely remind you of the documentary that aired on Netflix too, “Fyre”, then the series “Lost” and the franchise film “Hunger Games”.
Quoted from Bustle, the synopsis of “The I-Land” is about 10 people who woke up on a beautiful island in amnesia. They then realize that the real reality is not the same as what they see. In order to get out of the island, they also have to experience things that are challenging physically and mentally. The choice is only two, life or death.
The series will contain seven episodes starring Kate Bosworth, Natalie Martinez, Alex Pettyfer, Ronald Peet, Kyle Schmid, Eberhardt City, Sibylla Deen, Anthony Lee Medina, Gilles Geary, and Michele Veintimilla. The series will air on September 12.
