The film Pacific Rim was directed by Guillermo del Toro and co-starred by a number of famous actors including Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini and Ron Perlman.
Broadly speaking the film set in the 2020s, tells when the earth was at war with Kaiju, giant monsters that emerged from an interdimensional portal at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. For the sake of fighting this monster, all humanity united to make Jaeger.
Synopsis Pacific Rim
Jaeger is a giant humanoid robot, each of which is controlled by at least 2 pilots whose minds are united by a Neural Bridge. In Jaeger’s experiment, there were many obstacles that hit Jaeger pilots.
Humans or researchers immediately got Jaeger’s innovation until finally, they made a two-pilot system by connecting their minds to each other. The pilot in the film Jaeger is told as Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) who piloted a Jaeger named Gipsy Danger with his brother, Yancy (Diego Klattenhoff).
The pilots then successfully shifted kaiju from the surface of the earth. Not only that, the boss of the Stacker Pentecost pilot (Idris Elba) then gave the task to eradicate Kaiju, which was located close to a small ship that was sailing.
But in the rescue mission, the ship left Raleigh a Jaeger pilot who had survived. Then the council asked the world army to close the Jaeger project and build a giant wall. However, the giant wall was unable to withstand the Kaiju Monster’s attack, eventually, a pair of pilots descended and returned to drive the old Jaeger and succeeded in crippling the Kaiju.
Raleigh was pulled by his boss to return to the army and become a pilot Jaeger again. The defense headquarters is now free from government intervention. So the pilot boss “Stacker” introduced Raleigh to one of Stacker’s trusted assistants and had special expertise in the martial arts named Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi).
Raleigh then asks Stacker to make Mako his partner in Jaeger. At first, Stacker refused but eventually, he changed his mind and allowed his trusted assistant to be the Raleigh pair pilot.
However, due to a mistake, Mako was eventually canceled as a pilot. The Kaiju monster that will be reached is now too strong, and the mission to bring down 3 Jaegers other than that of Raleigh jumps into the Kaiju field.
With the help of Mako who was forced down to become a Raleigh pilot pair because of Kaiju’s higher strength. At that time Dr. Newton Geizler (Charlie Day), just found a way to connect Kaiju’s brain with the human brain.
For the sake of searching for a fresh brain so that he could read Kaiju’s mind, Newton also met an illicit trader named Hannibal Chau (Ron Perlman). However, Raleigh and Newton’s steps in their respective assignments were not easy. They must face the obstacles in front of them. Once there is a problem there is always a solution.
With solid cooperation and brave sacrifice, the mission of humankind in conquering Kaiju was dramatically successful.
