The film Isle of Dogs (2018) tells of a boy who got help from a group of dogs to find his pet dog after all the dogs were dumped to the island to isolate the dog flu outbreak.
This animated film brought a lot of stars to fill the voices of its characters, namely Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Liev Schreiber, Scarlett Johansson.
The Isle of Dogs full movie was directed by Wes Anderson, an American director who previously directed the film The Grand Budapest Hotel. The film script is a collaboration between Japanese and American filmmakers written by Anderson himself.
Synopsis Isle of Dogs
In the future, the dog flu virus will spread to all dogs. Even though a scientist named Professor Watanabe almost found a cure, but the authoritarian mayor of Megasaki City, Kobayashi signed an edict expelling all dogs to Trash Island. The first dog thrown away belonged to Atari Kobayashi, the mayor’s niece who was already orphaned.
Six months later Atari steals a plane and flies to Trash Island to look for Spots. After an emergency landing, he was rescued by a group of dogs led by a black dog, Chief. They decide to help Atari find the Spots, even though the Chief is reluctant to ally with humans.
They drove out the rescue team sent by Kobayashi to save Atari. At Nutmeg’s insistence, the Chief finally decided to accompany the group on the search. They sought advice from two wise dogs, Jupiter and Oracle, who warned them of cannibal dogs in isolated parts of the island.
Professor Watanabe found the cure, but he was poisoned by Kobayashi. American exchange student Tracy Walker suspected a conspiracy and began an investigation. He faces Watanabe’s colleague, Yoko Ono, who confirms Tracy’s suspicions. He gave Tracy the last medicine.
