Synopsis Hacksaw Ridge
It takes place in World War II and tells the true story of United States medical personnel, Desmond T Doss. Desmond served as a medical worker during the Okinawa War. He refused to kill people during the war, even the enemy.
However, thanks to his actions Desmond became the first person in US history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a single shot during the war. A veteran of the US army mourns the death of his friends during World War I. At home, he raises his sons in a godly environment and asks them to avoid weapons.
One of his sons is Desmond T Doss. Desmond once got into a fight that ended unpleasantly. From then on, he diligently read the Bible, worshiped, and vowed not to hurt other humans in his life. One day, Desmond gets the chance to save the life of a worker.
The rescue gave him inner satisfaction. At the hospital, Desmond meets a female nurse, whom he then dates. After the United States entered World War II, Desmond joined the enlistment as part of the army. This caused his father’s anger because the Desmond brothers also joined the Army.
Hard training in the Army made Desmond had a dispute with other fellow soldiers, but he still obeyed in principle, not to hurt others. Demond also had problems with the coaches because he did not want to hold a weapon, he also practiced to use it.
