Wakanda is led by the king who is also a Black Panther because it has the superpower of a secret flower that is bred in Wakanda. T’Challa had to become a new king at a young age and become a Black Panther who protected his citizens because his father died from a bomb attack.
However, T’Challa failed to carry out his first assignment to capture Ulysses Klaue, his father’s mortal enemy. Then, his cousin, Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) suddenly appears and defeats T’Challa in a spiritual battle which makes him the new king of Wakanda. Wakanda officials initially did not know if Erik Killmonger was a Wakanda.
