The film by director Michael Dougherty tells the story of monsters the size of a god who returns. One of them is an ancient 3-headed monster, King Ghidorah. When the Earth experienced a major disaster, scientists believed that the condition of the earth could be saved by giant creatures called the Titans.
Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga) is a paleobiologist who works for the crypto-zoological Monarch agency. He believes that humans and Titans can coexist peacefully. Now the task is to find Titans who can help the Earth because not all Titans can heal, some can make it worse and more damaging. But on an unknown island and far from satellite surveillance, Monarch’s geography research agency had to deal with a group of god-sized monsters, namely Kong, Godzilla, and Ghidorah.
In this session, Kong is a giant monster that first collides with the aircraft of the researchers. In his first film, Kong defeated the biggest Skullcrawler and saved the explorers and other residents of Skull Island. In the sequel, Godzilla 2, Monarch’s agent is then reunited with another ancient monster, the three-headed King Ghidorah.
King Ghidorah is Godzilla’s mortal enemy. When these super-ancient species, regarded as mere myths, revived, they all competed for supremacy, making human existence highly dependent on balance. Will humans be able to save themselves from the attacks of ancient monsters?
The appearance of the giant monsters is expected to be better and more detailed than previous films when viewed from the trailer.
Godzilla
This is a Godzilla 2 movie, of course, Godzilla will be a monster that is sure to come out and be the most highlighted among the other monsters. Godzilla was first awakened accidentally by an American nuclear submarine, which made the United States military try to kill it using a nuclear bomb. They were unsuccessful, but after dropping a hydrogen bomb on Godzilla, the creature disappeared for 60 years, then Monarch was formed to study it and other monsters.
Godzilla returned in the 21st century when the first MUTO (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism) appeared, and with some human assistance, he defeated his opponents before they could reproduce. Although initially believed to be dead, Godzilla woke up the next day and returned underwater.
Mothra
Mothra first appeared in 1961 and is among the most famous monsters in this franchise. Unlike Godzilla, Mothra is considered a more heroic monster because it fights to defend the island. Mothra is also referred to as a more friendly giant monster.
Rodan
In the trailer, Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga) tells us that giant monsters, the “original rulers” of Earth, need to be found and made aware of so that the Earth and humans can be saved. But Rodan is expected to be a giant monster that will actually damage. Rodan has a shape resembling pterodactyl and was first seen in 1956.
So far, Rodan has only been seen as coming from a volcano and he is flying over the destroyed wings of Washington DC that can produce thunder strong enough to make cities devastated.
King Ghidorah
Just like in the Japanese Godzilla movie, King Ghidorah is portrayed as Godzilla’s main enemy in MonsterVerse continuity. Like Rodan, King Ghidorah can fly, and he can also shoot “gravity beams” from his mouth, breathing Godzilla atoms. In the Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer has seen frozen in the ice, then spread its wings in the fog.
Kong
Kong already has two films of his own. First took the setting in 1930 where Kong was taken to New York. The two took the setting in 1973 against the background of Kong’s island and the monsters in Kong: Skull Island. In the film, Kong defeated the largest Skullcrawler and saved the explorers and other residents of Skull Island. Kong is also expected to fight with Godzilla.
