Aladdin 2019 is a musical fantasy film directed by Guy Ritchie. The screenplay was written by Ritchie and Ohn August. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, this is a 1992 film remake of Disney animation of the same name. The story is based on Middle Eastern folklore collections compiled in the Arabic language One Thousand and One Night (Tell 1001 nights).
The 2019 Aladdin film is also a tribute to Robin Williams who was the voice actor for the role of Genie in the 1992 Aladdin animation. Aladdin 2019 starred Mena Massoud, Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen.
Previously, in October 2016 Disney announced that Ritchie would be the director of Aladdin’s live-action remake. Will Smith becomes the cast of Aladdin who joins. He will play Genie in Aladdin and Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott were confirmed to be the main actors namely Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.
Filming began in September 2017 at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England and at Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan. Filming continues until January 2019.
Synopsis
The 2019 film Aladdin tells the story of a street child who lives with a monkey named Abu. He falls in love with Jasmine, Agruter’s daughter who will marry a prince of his father’s choice. He and Abu find a magical lamp containing a genie named Genie.
Genie gave Aladdin an opportunity to have 3 of his requests granted. Aladdin wants to be a prince so he can marry Jasmine. On the other hand, Aladdin must secure Genie from evil witches who want to steal lights for evil purposes.
